Natural New Solution for Female Health

Passion For Life Healthcare has launched a new, natural product for intimate feminine hygiene called Bio-Fem Actigel. Developed in the Netherlands with leading GPs and Gynaecologists, Bio-Fem Actigel is a clinically proven and naturally based remedy for intimate female discomforts.

The Bio-Fem range, which includes products for feminine hygiene and post-natal care, works with the body's natural defences to help relieve and sooth discomforts using Bio-Active properties. The Bio-Active properties used are a combination of natural formulations which work with the body to positively influence and enhance the healing process.

Bio-Fem Actigel is a new product for intimate care and hygiene that will relieve common female discomforts including sensitivity, stinging, itching, soreness, redness, dryness as well as abnormal odour and discharge. It has a pH balance of 1.4 to complement the normal acidity of the vagina and stimulates the growth of lactobacilli, which produce lactic acid and are responsible for the natural acidity of the vagina.

Based on the Bio-Active Concept designed specifically for sensitive skin, the mail ingredient of Bio-Fem Actigel is a high percentage of Vitaloe gel, a patented extract of the Aloe barbadensis plant. Aloe barbadensis has been used for over 3,000 years for its soothing, moisturising and cooling benefits.

The Aloe barbardensis plant contains the highest concentration of the specific active polysaccharide and complex carbohydrate, Acemannan. Acemannan is derived from the leaf parenchyma of this plant and is the most important and effective polysaccharide chain used in the Bio-Active healing process. The unique, patented extraction process used for Bio-fem products prevents the potential breakdown of this chain and leaves the Acemannan in its purest and most effective form.

Additional herbal extracts are included in Bio-Fem Actigel, such as Camomile, Calendula and Rosemary known for their calming and soothing influences and Tea Tree Oil, known for its antiseptic property.

Bio-Fem Actigel is available from Boots The Chemists and independent pharmacies from January 2003. It costs £7.95 for a 50ml gel. It has been launched exclusively in the UK by Passion For Life Healthcare Ltd, specialists in innovative healthcare.
